The topic of the author's chosen Bachelor's work is: ‘’ Nurses work safety in caring for bacillary tuberculosis patients.‘’ Tuberculosis is a long-standing but late-onset infectious disease that is one of the biggest public health challenges in all countries around the world. Treatment of tuberculosis remains a challenge, during which nurses put themselves at risk of infection by failing to adhere to safety measures and principles at work. The theoretical part of the Bachelor's work analysed scientific literature on the principles of care and treatment of tuberculosis patients in hospital, focusing on what occupational safety measures and principles nurses should follow when caring for bacillary tuberculosis patients. In the practice part of the Bachelor's work, a structured observation was used as a study technique, during which eight nurses at x hospital were observed to find out how nurses followed occupational safety precautions and principles when dealing with bacillary tuberculosis patients. The study resulted in an answer to the raised question of the study - what is the safety of nurses caring for bacillary tuberculosis patients?
