Politiskās karikatūras kā politiskās žurnālistikas žanrs: Laikrakstā “Latvijas Avīze” publicēto karikatūru analīze

Abstract

Darba tēma: Politiskās karikatūras kā politiskās žurnālistikas žanrs: Laikrakstā “Latvijas Avīze” publicēto karikatūru analīze. Politiskās karikatūras ir neatņemama politiskās žurnālistikas sastāvdaļa, kas sniedz savu redzējumu jeb situāciju un notikumu attēlojumu plašajā ziņu klāstā, tādējādi informējot sabiedrību par nozīmīgām sociālām un politiskām norisēm. Asprātīgie zīmējumi var likt lasītājam vai nu pasmieties, vai nu pārdomāt redzēto un iedziļināties situācijas analīzē, veidojot viedokli par tēmu, jo karikatūras pauž noteiktu attieksmi pret notikumiem, tādēļ darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kādu izraudzītā medija redakcionālo pozīciju iespējams nolasīt no laikrakstā “Latvijas Avīze” publicētajām karikatūrām Covid’19 pandēmijas laikā. Šim nolūkam maģistra darbam tiek izvirzīts izpētes jautājums: Kādus vēstījumus saistībā ar Covid’19 pandēmiju konstruēja laikraksts “Latvijas Avīze” ar karikatūru palīdzību? Maģistra darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek runāts par to, kas ir karikatūra, galvenokārt pievēršot uzmanību politiskās karikatūras skaidrojumam – to raksturojošiem elementiem un izteiksmes līdzekļiem. Tāpat darbā tiek pētīta humora loma politiskajā komunikācijā, kā arī apzināta mediju komunikācijas loma krīzes apstākļos. Savukārt empīriskajā daļā tiek veikta laikrakstā “Latvijas Avīze” publicēto 248 karikatūru kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze, precīzāk, semiotiskā analīze kopā ar naratīvu un vizuālo metaforu analīzi, pievēršot uzmanību politisko karikatūru iezīmēm, funkcijām, mērķauditorijai u.c. aspektiem, kas palīdz atbildēt uz maģistra darbā izvirzīto izpētes jautājumu.

The theme of thesis: Political cartoons as a genre of political journalism: Analysis of cartoons published in the newspaper “Latvijas Avīze”. Political cartoons are an integral part of political journalism, which provides its own vision or representation of situations and events in the wide range of news, thus informing the public about important social and political developments. The witty drawings can make the reader either laugh or reflect on what they have seen and analyze the situation, forming an opinion on the subject, as the cartoons express a certain attitude towards the events, therefore the aim of the research is to investigate which editorial position of the selected media can be read from the cartoons published in the newspaper “Latvijas Avīze” during the Covid’19 pandemic. For this purpose, the research question is: What messages were constructed by the newspaper “Latvijas Avīze” through the cartoons in relation to the Covid’19 pandemic? The theoretical part of the Master's thesis deals with the definition of what a cartoon is, mainly focusing on the explanation of political cartoons – their characteristic elements and means of expression. The thesis also explores the role of humor in political communication, as well as the role of media communication in times of crisis. In the empirical part, a qualitative content analysis, more precisely a semiotic analysis, together with an analysis of narratives and visual metaphors, is carried out on 248 cartoons published in the newspaper “Latvijas Avīze”, paying attention to the features, functions, target audience and other aspects of political cartoons, which help to answer the research question posed in this Master's thesis.
