Mūžizglītība publiskajās bibliotēkās digitālās transformācijas laikmetā

Abstract

Mūsdienu sabiedrības spilgtākā iezīme – ikdienas straujais dzīves temps informācijas pieblīvētā telpā, uz nepārtraukti mainīgo tehnoloģiju fona, kur starp dažādām iedzīvotāju grupām digitālās transformācijas rezultātā, ir izveidojusies digitālā plaisa, kas, šķeļot sabiedrību, pazemina dzīves kvalitāti un kavē sabiedrības attīstību kopumā. Viens no digitālās plaisas rašanās iemesliem, kas saistīts ar zemo digitālās pratības līmeni sabiedrībā, aktualizē izpratnes vairošanu par mūžizglītības veicināšanas nepieciešamību, ātrākai problēmas risināšanai. Bakalaura darbs “Mūžizglītība publiskajās bibliotēkās digitālās transformācijas laikmetā” ir izstrādāts ar mērķi apzināt publisko bibliotēku iespējas mūžizglītības veicināšanā un nodrošināšanā, akcentējot digitālās pratības aspektu, digitālās plaisas mazināšanai sabiedrībā, kā arī noskaidrot iedzīvotāju attieksmi pret mūžizglītības aktivitātēm publiskajās bibliotēkās. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi, ir veiktas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar bibliotēku jomas speciālistēm un bibliotēku lietotāju aptauja. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka publiskās bibliotēkas, kalpojot sabiedrībai kā daudzfunkcionālas atbalsta institūcijas, un piedāvājot iedzīvotājiem dažādas iespējas neformālajā izglītībā, ir digitālās transformācijas laikmetam atbilstošas mūžizglītības nodrošinātājas un veicinātājas sabiedrībā.

The most striking feature of modern society is the daily fast pace of life in an information-filled space, against the background of constantly changing technologies, where a digital divide has emerged between different population groups because of digital transformation, which dividing society, lowers the quality of life and hinders the development of society. One of the reasons for the emergence of the digital divide, which is related to the low level of digital literacy in society, raises the awareness of the need to promote lifelong learning, to solve the problem faster. The bachelor’s thesis “Lifelong learning in public libraries in the age of digital transformation” has been developed with the aim of identifying the possibilities of public libraries in promoting and providing lifelong learning, emphasizing the aspect of digital literacy, to reduce the digital divide in society, as well as to find out the attitude of the population towards lifelong education activities in public libraries. To achieve the aim of the research, semi-structured interviews with library specialists and a survey of library users are conducted. The results of the research revealed that public libraries, serving the society as multi-functional support institutions and offering citizens various opportunities in informal education, are providers and promoters of lifelong learning in the society in accordance with the age of digital transformation.
