Zinātnes reprezentācija LTV1 raidījumā "Lielās Patiesības"

Abstract

Šī darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā LTV1 raidījumā “Lielās Patiesības” tiek reprezentēta zinātne, ņemot vērā gan sabiedriskajā pasūtījumā un LTV redakcionālajā politikā minētos kritērijus, gan raidījuma anotācijā minētos principus. Darba teorētiskajā daļa aplūkoti sabiedriskie mediji, reprezentācijas problemātika vispārīgi un arī tieši zinātnes reprezentācija televīzijā. Tāpat tiek sniegts ieskats raidījuma vēsturē, kā arī īsi aplūkots zinātnes un reliģijas konflikta konteksts. Pētījumā izmantotas kvalitatīvas metodes: kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze, fokusgrupas intervija, kā arī daļēji strukturēta intervijā. Autors uzskata, ka šo metožu kombinācija ļauj pietuvoties objektīvam skatījumam neviennozīmīgos reprezentācijas jautājumos. Darba noslēgumā secināts, ka raidījumā dominē sekulāra zinātnes reprezentācija, taču kā riskanta un nevēlama norādīti skaidras redakcionālās politikas trūkums un redakcionālās sadarbības ar LTV neesamība.

The aim of this work is to find out how science is represented in the LTV1 program "Lielās Patiesības", taking into account both the criteria mentioned in the public service remit and the editorial policy of LTV, as well as the principles mentioned in the annotation of the program. The theoretical part of the work examines public media, representation issues in general, and specifically the representation of science on television. An insight into the history of the program is also given, as well as the context of the conflict between science and religion is briefly discussed. Qualitative methods are used in the research: qualitative content analysis, focus group interview, as well as semi-structured interview. The author believes that the combination of these methods makes it possible to get closer to an objective view on ambiguous representation issues. At the end of the paper, it is concluded that the program is dominated by a secular representation of science, but the lack of a clear editorial policy and the absence of editorial cooperation with LTV are indicated as risky and undesirable.
