dc.description.abstract | The bachelor's thesis examines the spread of the invasive plant species " R. Rugosa " in the area of the seaside dunes near Daugavgriva. Invasive plant species are an actual problem both in Latvia and in Europe, databases are created for their description and monitoring is carried out. The spread of these species affects biological diversity, promotes the formation of monocultures, and every year the fight against the further spread of these species brings significant losses to national economies. The introduction of exogenous species into native ecosystems can lead to changes in them, especially in dynamic and sensitive coastal habitats that respond to abiotic, biotic and anthropogenic perturbations. Invasive properties of adventive species may only manifest after prolonged residence in the new environment, emphasizing the importance of detecting and predicting the impact of invasive species in native habitats. The curly rose is a two-valued invasive species and is accepted as one of the potentially invasive species in the flora of Latvia. Currently, this species is widespread in sand dune plant communities along the Baltic Sea. In order to ecologically evaluate the population of R. rugosus, research was conducted in the dune habitat of Daugavgrīva Island. The work consists of an introduction, 3 chapters and conclusions, as well as a list of used literature. The total volume of the text is 44 pages, including 1 appendice.
