Partnerība ir jauns tiesisko attiecību regulējums Latvijas Republikā, kas paredz iespēju divām pilngadīgām personām juridiski nostiprināt to savstarpējās attiecības nolūkā veidot kopdzīvi un nodibināt ģimenes attiecības. Darbā galvenie izvirzītie mērķi ir izpētīt partnerības regulējumu normatīvajos aktos, atrast pieņemtā regulējuma nepilnības, salīdzināt laulības institūtu ar partnerības institūtu, izpētīt citu Eiropas Savienības valstu regulējumu partnerības attiecību kontekstā, kā arī saprast to kā šāds regulējums iekļaujas Latvijā jau esošajā tiesību sistēmā. Galvenais darba secinājums ir tāds, ka partnerības institūta ieviešana ir radījusi iespēju viena dzimuma pāriem juridiski nodibināt to savstarpējās attiecības, taču šāds regulējums joprojām neparedz tiem vienlīdzīgas tiesībās dažāda dzimuma pāriem. Papildus, autore secina, ka šāds regulējums ir aktuāls ne tikai viena dzimuma pāriem, bet arī dažāda dzimuma pāriem, kuri nevēlas savas tiesiskās attiecības regulēt noslēdzot laulību. Partnership is a new regulation of legal relations in the Republic of Latvia, which provides an opportunity for two adults to legally strengthen their mutual relations in order to build a common life and establish a family. The main goals that the author set forth are to study the regulation of partnership in the Latvian legal system, to find the shortcomings of the adopted partnership regulation, to compare the institute of marriage with the institute of partnership, to study the regulation of other European Union regarding the regulation of partnership, and to understand how partnership regulation fits into the existing legal system in Latvia. The main conclusion of the work is that the introduction of the partnership institute has created an opportunity for same-sex couples to legally establish their mutual relationship, but this regulation still does not provide same-sex couples the same number of rights as the Latvian legal system provides for different sex couples. In addition, the author concludes that this regulation is relevant not only for same-sex couples, but also for couples of different sexes that do not want to regulate their legal relations with marriage.
