PĀRMĒRĪGAS AZARTSPĒLĒŠANAS SAISTĪBA AR KOGNITĪVĀM KĻŪDĀM UN IMPULSĪVO UZVEDĪBU SIEVIEŠU UN VĪRIEŠU VIDŪ

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt saistības starp pārmērīgu azarstpēlēšanu, ar azartspēlēm saistītas kognitīvas kļūdas un impulsīvu uzvedību sieviešu un vīriešu vidū. Kā arī noskaidrot, vai vīriešu grupa uzrādīs augstākus rādītājus ar azartspēlēm saistītajās kongitīvajās kļūdās un impulsivitātē. Un vai azartspēļu jomā strādājošiem cilvēkiem būs augstāki pārmērīgas azartspēlēšanas rādītāji. Visbeidzot, vai vecums, izglītība, ar azartspēlēm saistītas kognitīvas kļūdas un impulsivitāte ir pārmērīgas azartspēlēšanas prognozētāji. Pētījuma izlasi veidoja 119 pilngadīgi respondenti, no tiem 48 sievietes un 71 vīrieši. Tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas – Pārmērīgas azartspēlēšanas smaguma indekss, Ar azartspēlēm saistīta kognīciju skala, Īsa impulsīvas uzvedības skala. Rezultāti uzrādīja, ka nepastāv statistiski nozīmīgu atšķirību pārmērīgajā azartspēlēšanā, ar azartspēlēm saistītām kognitīvajām kļūdām un impulsivitāti sieviešu un vīriešu vidū, kas var būt saistīts ar nelielu izlases apjomu. Pārmērīgas spēlēšanas rādītaji bija augstāki azartspēļu jomā nestrādājošiem cilvēkiem. Tika noskaidrots, ka zemākam izglītības līmenim ir saistība ar pārmērīgu azartspēlēšanu. Kā arī, kognitīvas kļūdas un impulsivitāte ir pārmērīgas azartspēlēšanas prognozētāji, bet vecums un izglītība nav nozīmīgi prognozētāji.

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between problem gambling, gambling related cognitive errors and impulsive behavior among women and men. As well as to determine whether the group of men will show higher scores in gambling related cognitive errors and impulsivity. And whether people working in the gambling industry will have higher problem gambling rates. Lastly, if education, gambling related cognitive errors, and impulsivity are predictors of problem gambling. Study sample consisted of 119 adult participants, including 48 women and 71 men. Three surveys were used – Problem Gambling Severity Index, Gambling Related Cognitions Scale, Short-UPPS-P Impulsive Behaviour Scale. Results showed that there are no statistically significant differences in problem gambling, gambling related cognitive errors and impulsivity among women and men, which may be due to the small sample size. It was also found that lower levels of education are associated with problem gambling. Problem gambling rates were higher among people who do not work in gambling industry. Additionally, cognitive errors and impulsivity are predictors of problem gambling, while age and education are not significant predictors.
