Reģionālo mediju dienaskārtības salīdzinājums – laikraksti “Kurzemnieks” un “Saldus Zeme”

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Reģionālo mediju dienaskārtības salīdzinājums – laikraksti “Kurzemnieks” un “Saldus Zeme”” mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā un vai atšķiras dienaskārtība divos no Kurzemes laikrakstiem – “Saldus Zeme” un “Kurzemnieks”. Darba teorētiskajā daļā aplūkots dienaskārtības jēdziens, apskatot arī dienaskārtības specifiku reģionālajos medijos, mediju funkcijas sabiedrībā, reģionālie mediji, kā arī laikraksti Latvijā un iedzīvotāju iesaiste laikrakstu izveidē. Pētījuma daļā izmantotas četras pētniecības metodes – daļēji strukturētā intervija, fokusgrupas diskusija, kvantitatīvā kontentanalīze un kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka laikrakstu “Kurzemnieks” un “Saldus Zeme” dienaskārtībās ir novērojamas atšķirības, ko ietekmē dažādi faktori – tā brīža aktualitātes novadā, izveidotās rubrikas, galveno redaktoru personiskās intereses. Tāpat tiek atklāts, ka pilsoniskās žurnālistikas iesaiste šajos laikrakstos nav liela, taču tā ir, dažkārt arī pašiem lasītājiem ļaujot izveidot publikācijas laikrakstiem.

The aim of the bachelor thesis "Comparison of regional media agendas – newspapers “Kurzemnieks” and “Saldus Zeme”” is to find out how and whether the agendas of two Kurzeme newspapers – “Saldus Zeme” and “Kurzemnieks” differ. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the concept of agenda, including the specifics of agenda in regional media, the function of media in society, regional media, as well as newspapers in Latvia and the involvement of citizens in the creation of newspapers. Four research methods are used in this part of the study: semi-structured interview, focus group discussion, quantitative content analysis and qualitative content analysis. The results of the research reveal that there are differences in the agendas of newspapers “Kurzemnieks” and “Saldus Zeme”, which are influenced by various factors - current events in the region, established columns, personal interests of the editors-in-chief. It also reveals that there is not much citizen journalism involvement in these newspapers, but there is, sometimes allowing readers themselves to create publications for the newspapers.
