Sieviešu sportistu reprezentācija Latvijas interneta ziņu medijā “Sportazinas.com” 2024. gada Vasaras Olimpisko spēļu laikā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā apskatīta sieviešu sportistu reprezentācija Latvijas interneta ziņu medijā “Sportazinas.com” Parīzes olimpisko spēļu laikā un tā mērķis ir izpētīt kā medijā “Sportazinas.com” tiek atspoguļoti sieviešu sporta veidi un notikumi un vai sievietes sportistes tajā ir mazāk pārstāvētas, salīdzinājumā ar vīriešiem. Tāpat, darba mērķis ir saprast, kā tiek konstruēts un atspoguļots sievietes – sportistes – tēls Darba teorētiskā daļa satur informāciju par dzimumu un dzimti, sporta medijiem un dzimtes reprezentāciju, Latvijas mediju politiku un ziņu dienas kārtību, kā arī informāciju par izvēlēto pētniecības lauku – sporta mediju “Sportazinas.com”. Darba empīriskajā daļā izmantota kvantitatīvā kontentanalīze un kritiskā diskursa analīze. Veiktais pētījums atklāj informāciju par sieviešu reprezentāciju Latvijas medijos, kā arī diskursiem, kas tajā iezīmējas.

This bachelor thesis examines the representation of female athletes in the Latvian online news media "Sportazinas.com" during the Paris Olympics and aims to investigate how women's sports and events are covered in "Sportazinas.com" and whether female athletes are under-represented compared to men. It also aims to understand how the image of the female athlete is constructed and represented. The theoretical part of the thesis contains information about gender and sex, sports media and gender representation, Latvian media policy and news agenda, as well as information about the chosen research field - sports media "Sportazinas.com". The empirical part of the thesis uses quantitative contingency analysis and critical discourse analysis. The conducted research reveals information about the representation of women in the Latvian media, as well as the discourses that emerge in it.
