Sieviešu un viņu ķermeņa autonomijas atainojums šausmu filmās "The Substance" un "Swallow": semiotiskā un naratīvā analīze

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Sieviešu un viņu ķermeņa autonomijas atainojums šausmu filmās “The Substance” un “Swallow”: semiotiskā un naratīvā analīze” mērķis ir noskaidrot kādi semiotiskie kodi un naratīvi ir šausmu filmās “The Substance” un “Swallow”, un kā tie veido sievietes un viņu ķermeņa autonomijas atainojumu. Darba teorētiskā bāze balstās uz semiotikas, kino semiotikas, naratīva, šausmu žanra un šausmu kino specifikas, ķermeņa autonomijas kā arī sievietes tēla izmantojuma šausmu kino. Izmantojot semiotisko un naratīvo analīzi, noskaidrots, ka šausmu filmu “The Substance” un “Swallow” izmanto līdzīgu naratīva struktūru un semiotiskos elementus, lai atainotu sievietes un viņu ķermeņa autonomiju.

The aim of bachelor’s thesis “Portrayal of Women and Their Bodily Autonomy in Horror Films “The Substance” and “Swallow”: A Semiotic and Narrative Analysis” is to find out what semiotic codes and narratives are present in the horror films “The Substance” and “Swallow”, and how they shape the representation of women and their bodily autonomy. The theoretical basis of the thesis is based on semiotics, film semiotics, narrative, the specificity of horror genre and horror cinema, the autonomy of the body and the use of the female figure in horror cinema. Through semiotic and narrative analysis, it was found that the horror films “The Substance” and “Swallow” use similar narrative structures and semiotic elements to depict women and their bodily autonomy.
