ActivityPub standarta un Mastodon ietvara izpēte un izmantošana

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir veikt izpēti par decentralizēto sociālo mediju ietvaru Mastodon un par protokolu ActivityPub, kas darbina Mastodon ietvaru. Darba ietvaros tiek izveidota arī Mastodon instance un parādīta tās darbība un darbību izpēte. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek padziļināti izpētīts ActivityPub protokols, tiek parādītas komponentes no kā šis protokols ir veidots, kā tas strādā, kā arī kādi ir tā pielietojumi. Tiek izpētīts Mastodon ietvars, kā tas strādā un kādi ir protokoli, ko šis ietvars atbalsta. Darba praktiskajā daļā tiek izveidota Mastodon ietvara instance un tiek izpētītas šīs instances iespējas kā arī tiek testēta šīs instances darbību spēja. Darba beigās tiek veikti secinājumi par izpētītajiem protokoliem un Mastodon ietvaru.

The objective of the bachelor thesis is to provide in depth analysis of the decentralized social media framework Mastodon and ActivityPub protocol, which is the basis of the Mastodon framework as well as create a Mastodon instance and show its capabilities and research its capabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis is to provide in depth analysis of the ActivityPub protocol, which shows the components from which the protocol is created, how it works, as well as its use cases. The thesis also provides in depth analysis of the framework Mastodon, how it works and which protocols this framework supports. The practical part of the thesis shows the creation of a Mastodon instance and provides research on its capabilities as well as provides testing of the instance. The end of the thesis provides conclusions for the researched protocols and framework.
