The goals of this Bachelor paper „Communication of advertising characters in Latvian advertising: cases of Cūkmens and Centis Ūbele” is to analyze the process of communication of given advertising characters and also to find out if the share of the audience who remember those characters also remember their activities in the given period.
At the start of this paper two hypotheses were set:
1.Different archetypes are used in the communication of given advertising characters.
2.Advertising characters themselves are given more attention than the content of their communication.
The theoretical part of this Bachelor’s paper is based on Philip Kotler’s marketing theory, theory of social marketing, narrative theory and also Carol Pearson’s archetype theory. It also examines the approach of IMC to identify which instruments of IMC are used in the communication of given advertising characters and how are they used.
The empiric part of this bachelor’s paper includes the analysis of narratives and archetypes of advertising characters, the content analysis of the websites of given advertising acharacters and also audience research which was conducted using surveys.
By summarizing the information acquired during this research the author concludes that it has confirmed both of the hypotheses set in the beginning of this paper.
Keywords: advertising character, communication, marketing, social marketing, narrative, archetypes.
