Atjaunojošā justīcija saskata noziedzīga nodarījumā ne tikai likuma pārkāpumu, bet vērtē arī to, ka konkrētajām cietušajām tiek nodarīts zaudējums ar šo noziedzīgo nodarījumu. Viens no atjaunojošas justīcijas alternatīvas domstarpības risināšanas veidiem krimināltiesiskajā konfliktā ir saistīts ar izlīgumu. Kriminālprocesa ietvaros izlīgums ir viens no ātrākajiem un efektīvākajiem veidiem kā atrisināt konfliktu un atjaunot taisnīgumu.
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt un izanalizēt izlīguma institūtu Latvijā, apskatīt izlīguma institūta normatīvo regulējumu un salidzināt to ar Lietuvas, Igaunijas un Krievijas normatīvo regulējumu, izpētīt izlīguma noslēgšanas tiesiskās sekas kriminālprocesa ietvaros un noskaidrot atšķirības no mediācijas procesa, kā arī analizēt problēmjautājumus, kas saistīti ar izlīguma institūtu.

Restorative justice sees criminal offenses not only as a violations of law, but also as a fact that certain victims of this criminal offense are suffering. One of the restorative justice alternative dispute resolution forms of criminal conflict is settlement. In criminal proceeding, the settlement is one of the quickest and most effective way how to resolve criminal conflict and restore justice.
The aims of the bachelor is to explore and analyze the settlement institute in Latvia, take a look at regulation of the settlement institute and compare it with Lithuanian, Estonian and Russian regulation, investigate legal consequences of settlement in criminal proceedings and clarify the differences of the mediation process, and analyze the problems that are related to the settlement institution. The authoress, who analysed and compared laws, case laws and legal literature, has come to conclusion about settlement institution and its prerequisites in criminal proceeding and has identified the differences in national regulatory on this bachelor topic and also has come to a number of suggestions about this topic.
