The author of tha Bachelor’s work „Athletes‘ commitment contracts“, studying specialized literature and on the basis of personal expierence, has tried to prove that sport as a relatively new, comprehensive and complex type of relationship in Latvia is insufficiently legally regulated. As athletes‘ proffesional life is relatively short, and it is very important to have an adequate and specially designed framework of sports legal rights. This thesis gives knowledge of athletes‘ commitment contracts as the most commonly occuring types of athletes settlement of property relations, and about specific rules that need to be contained in athletes‘ commitment contracts and which need particular attention in developement and conclusion of contract, so that interests of both subjects would be reasonably met. As a result the author presents the necessary improvements that need to be carried out, in order to arrange athletes‘ legal relationship.
