The main objective of the study was to determine if there is an association between adult assessment of parental acceptance-rejection in childhood, with social and economic factors. A second objective was to find out whether there are gender-specific and location differences among adults who conceived rejection from their parents during their childhood. The study included 160 adults (80 women, 80 men) aged 18-30 years (M = 22.19).
Study participants completed the "Parental rejection Acceptance Questionnaire (PARQ)" ( adult version, Rohner, in 2004), which consists of two forms (mother and father), where attitude and behavior of parents during childhood is marked.
The research results show that the family's financial situation during childhood and fathers education level statistically significantly positively correlate with fathers emotional warmth and care, negatively correlate with the fathers indifference and neglective behavior, and the collective results of fathers rejection.
