Pētījumā piedalījās studenti vecumā no 17 līdz 25 gadiem (N=57).
The aim of the research was to find out 1) What is the connection between Everyday Creativity, Laughter and Emotional Intelligence? 2) Are there differences in Emotional Intelligence and Everyday Creativity between the students who laugh rarely and those who laugh often? 3) Are there differences in Everyday Creativity, Emotional Intelligence and Laughter between students whose study process is or is not related to creative work? Participants in the project were students aged between 17 and 25 (N=57). The average age of the representative sample is 19.56 years, 93% are female, 7% male. The representative sample consists of two groups; the learning process of students of one group is related to creative activities (N=30), to students of the other there is no such relation (N=27).
Materials used in research: Questionnaire of Everyday Creativity (M.Raščevska, 2007, unpublished material), Questionnaire of frequent cy of Laughter (Z.Kārkliņa, 2007, unpublished material), Emotional Quotient Inventory (Bar-On, 1999).
It was found in the research that there exists as statistically significant relevance between Everyday Creativity (Summary scale) and frequency of Laughter (according to self-evaluation), but there is no statistically significant connection between Everyday Creativity and frequency of Laughter as evaluated by others. Everyday Creativity (Summary scale) also correlates with interpersonal, intrapersonal and general mood factors of Emotional Intelligence. Students who laugh more often are more optimistic and feel happier than those who laugh rarely. In terms of other factors of Emotional Intelligence and all scales of Everyday Creativity, there is no difference between students who laugh rarely and who laugh often. Differences between students who are or are not related to creative activity exist only in terms of creative works produced, the number of which is greater in the first group. In the rest of Everyday Creativity scales or in any of factors of Emotional Intelligence, there are no differences between students whose learning processes are or are not related to creative activity.
