The value-based education and lessons having the main aim of teaching values have become a form of the expression of humane paradigm of education. Within the topic of the paper “Teaching of Aleksandrs Caks’ works at school “ I have investigated the problem of how to organize the value-orientated teaching process of literature to develop a humane, intellectually rich personality. The aim of the empirical research was to include the different cooperation forms between the teacher and the pupil in the methodological system in order to encourage the development of the dialogue regarding the investigated problem in Ventspils 1st Gymnasium. In the theoretical part of the paper, a deepened overview of A.Caks’ personality is given and the never-vanishing values in A.Caks’ prose, poetry and lyrico-epic works are regarded. The theoretical approaches in organizing the value-orientated lesson are also studied. In the paper, the descriptions and assessments of 15 lessons organized during the pedagogic probation classes are presented, and the usage of different methods and methodical approaches is given. The appendix contains plans of lessons, work-sheets made by the author of this paper, the scenario for the conclusion of the theme “Caks’ world” written by the 11th form pupils, examples of pupils’ work as well as the results of questionnaires carried out by pupils regarding the popularity of poetry among them. Keywords: Cak’s works, orientation of values, cooperation, dialogue, existing problems.
