Diplomdarbs ir uzrakstīts ar mērķi izpētīt veidus, kā paplašināt tehnikuma audzēkņu lietišķās angļu valodas vārdu krājumu, jo tehnikuma komerczinību studentiem jābūt labi apbruņotiem ar vārdu krājumu un terminu zināšanām lietišķajā angļu valodā.
Kā pētījuma metodi autore izvēlējās darbības pētījumu. Pētījums tika veikts Rīgas Valsts Tehnikuma Balvu filiālē pētnieces prakses laikā 2012. gada pavasarī un rudenī.. Tika izmantotas sekojošas datu vākšanas metodes: testi studentu vārdu krājuma zināšanu noteikšanai, anketēšana studentu vajadzību izpētei un tests studentu mācīšanās stilu noteikšanai.
Pētījumam bija sekojoši uzdevumi: literatūras izpēte, testu un anketu izveidošana, testēšana, anketēšana, stundu pilotēšana, kas, balstoties uz studentu vajadzībām, izveidotas par darba meklējumu un pieteikšanās tēmu.

The Diploma Paper is written to explore the ways of developing Vocational School students’ Business English vocabulary as the school commercial students need to be well-equipped with business-related words and terminology in English.
The author chose an action research as a research method. The research has been carried out in Riga State Vocational School Balvi Branch during the teaching practice of the researcher in spring and autumn 2012. The methods of data collection used are: tests on the students’ Business English vocabulary knowledge, a students’ needs analysis questionnaire and a test on the learning styles.
The following tasks were included: studying theoretical literature, designing and carrying out tests on vocabulary knowledge and learning styles, questionnaires on learners’ needs, the lessons on Job Search and Application, developed to meet the learners’ needs.
