Mirušo kults un kapu kultūra Latvijā kā kulturoloģijas tēma vidusskolā

Abstract

Kultūras izpausmes ir ļoti daudzveidīgas, arī mirušo apbedīšanas tradīcijas un kapu kultūra ir nozīmīga kultūrvēsturiska liecība. Šī darba mērķis ir pierādīt, ka arī Latvijā pastāvējis un pastāv mirušo kults kā svarīgs kultūras elements, un tāpēc par to jārunā vidusskolas kulturoloģijas kursā. Darbā iezīmēts ieskats pasaules mirušo kultu izpausmēs, lai veiktu salīdzinājumu ar Latvijas kultūru, iztirzāta mitoloģiskā nāves uztvere, veļu laika nozīmīgums gada ritējumā, atspoguļotas bedības kā viens no galvenajiem latviešu godiem, kā arī analizētas apbedīšanas tradīcijas no senatnes līdz mūsdienām. Lai pierādītu mirušo kulta esamību, tika izvirzīts uzdevums iepazīties ar dažādu laiku un dažādu autoru teorijām, analizēt attiecīgās tēmas atspoguļojumu folklorā un klasiķu darbos, apmeklēt senās un mūsdienu apbedījumu vietas, veidot plašu vizuālo materiālu (foto, video), piedalīties piemiņas pasākumos (piemēram, kapu svētkos).

Culture has manifestations of many forms; burial customs and cemetery traditions are also an exceptional testimony of heritage value. The goal of the research is to demonstrate that the Cult of the Dead has been and is still present in Latvia as an important element of culture, and it should be a part of Culturology course in Secondary School. The author has outlined the insight into worldwide displays of the Cult of the Dead to make a comparison with Latvian culture; the author enlarges upon mythological perception of Death, the importance of “veļu laiks” (the time of the ghosts); discloses funerals as one of the main rites of passage, also analyzes both ancient and modern burial customs. To prove the existence of the Cult of the Dead, the author was tasked to acquaint herself with different theories of different periods; to analyze the display of this topic in folklore and fiction; to visit ancient and modern burial sites; to compile the visual material (photos, videos)
