Bakalaura darbs “ Videospēļu spēlēšanas motīvi un paradumi 6-7 gadīgo bērnu auditorijā” pēta 6-7 gadus vecu bērnu video/datorspēļu spēlēšanas paradumus, motīvus, noskaidro populārākos video/datorspēļu žanrus. Bērnu datorspēļu lietošana nozīmīgi palielinājusies pēdējos gados paralēli šī jaunā medija straujajai attīstībai un izplatībai.
Darbs pamatā tiek balstīts uz E. Katca( E.Katz)& Gureviča (M, Gurevitch) mediju pielietojuma un apmierinājuma teoriju, kā arī Bergera A.A. (Berger A.A), D.Zilmana (D. Zillmann), P.Vorderera (P.Vorderer), B. Dženingsa (B. Jennings), P. Valkenburgas (P. Valkenburg), S.Livingstones (S. Livingstone) u.c. pētījumiem un teoriju.
Pētījums veikts izmantojot kvalitatīvās un kvantitatīvā pētniecības metodes, proti, kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze, aptauja, fokusa grupu diskusijas, un eksperta intervija.
Pētījuma galvenie mērķi - noskaidrot 6-7 gadus vecu bērnu video/datorspēļu spēlēšanas paradumus, galvenos motīvus, kā arī vecāku un ekspertu viedokli.
Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka video/datorspēles ir trešais populārākais medijs 6-7 gadīgu bērnu vidū, vidēji spēlētas 2-3 stundas nedēļā, nozīmīgākie motīvi- izaicinājums, sacensība un uzdevumu atbilstība attīstības līmenim.
Darbs sastāv no 3 nodaļām, teorētiskās, metodoloģiskās un analītiskās daļas, kurā pieminētās izvēlētās pētniecības metodes pielietotas praksē, analizēta pētījuma gaita un sniegts iegūto datu izklāsts.

Theoretical part based on E. Katz & M, Gurevitch media uses and gratification theory, as well as A.A Berger, D. Zillmann, P. Vorderer B. Jennings, P. Valkenburg, S. Livingstone research and theory.
Qualitative and quantitative research methods are used for the study- qualitative content analysis, questionnaire, focus groups and deep interview.
Study objectives – clarify video/computer game playing habits, main motives among 6-7 year old children as well as parent and expert viewpoint.
Study results show, that video/computer games are the third most popular media 6-7 year old children consume, video/computer games are played 2-3 hours per week and the main motives are challenge, competition and correspondence with developmental tasks.
Bachelor thesis structured in 3 sections. Theoretical part, methodology and analytical part where chosen research methods are used in practice, analyzed study process and study data provided.
