The title of the Bachelor thesis is „Architecture as a profession”. The purpose of this paper is to offer a sociological research on architecture as a profession. The theoretical basis of the research frame approaches from the sociological theories by Weber, Marx, Bourdieu and Beck. Within the research I open six tasks of inquiry.
The empirical study is based on qualitative methods. Observation and partly structured interviews are the primary data, unstructured interviews – secondary data.
All tasks of inquiry get fulfilled during the research by revealing the presence of the vocation within the architecture as a profession, indicating the marks of alienated work within profession, and highlighting the importance of cooperation and responsibility, as well as the exigency of interaction and communication between society and an architect.
