Vispārējās valdības parāds un valsts ekonomiskā izaugsme jaunajās Eiropas Savienības dalībvalstīs

Abstract

Vispārējais valdības parāds mērenā līmenī ir ļoti nozīmīgs faktors valstu ekonomiskajai attīstībai, taču, sasniedzot tam pārāk augstu līmeni, tā pozitīvā ietekme uz ekonomiku var mainīties, un tas var sākt bremzēt ekonomikas izaugsmi. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai augsts vispārējais valdības parāda līmenis samazina valsts ekonomisko izaugsmi jaunajām Eiropas Savienības dalībvalstīm. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka nevar viennozīmīgi apgalvot, ka vispārējais valdības parāds negatīvi ietekmē valsts izaugsmi, jo rezultāti atkarīgi no izvēlēto valstu grupas un pētītā laika perioda. Augsta parāda līmeņa ietekme uz izaugsmi notiek caur vairākiem kanāliem, piemēram, paaugstinot procentu likmes, kā arī samazinot investīcijas un produktivitāti valstī.

The general government debt at moderate level is a very important factor for national economic development, but if it reaches too high level, its positive impact on the economy may change and it can begin to slow down the economic growth. Bachelor thesis aim is to clarify if the high general government debt level reduces the country’s economic growth in the new European Union member states. The research results show that it can’t be unequivocally said that the general government debt negatively affects the national growth, because the results depend on the selected countries and time period. High level of debt affects the economic growth through multiple channels, such as raising interest rates, as well as reducing investment and productivity in the country.
