Atslēgvārdi: inovācija, inovatīvs biznesa modelis, šķeltnieciskās inovācijas, savstarpējo (P2P) aizdevumu platformas Despite of disruptive innovations broad usage, the theory’s core concepts have been more and more often misunderstood and its basics associated with wrong business examples. Therefore, Master thesis “Analysis if disruptive innovation. Peer-to-peer lending sector in Latvia” is an attempt to provide a general theory’s summary and its basic tenets. Master thesis and its research is conducted and carried out in a field that is generally new. Therefore, the aim of this work is to deepen and broaden theory of disruptive innovation and, while applying author’s chosen seven signs of disruption, determine, if peer to peer lending platforms – TWINO and Mintos – can be identified as example of disruptive innovation. In order to conduct the research, author uses generally accepted qualitative research methods, consisting of analysis of scientific literature, expert interviews, disruptive innovation 7 characteristics analysis, and statistical analysis of data. Keywords: innovation, business model innovation, disruptive innovation, peer to peer (P2P) lending platforms
