The goal of the master thesis ‘The development of parliamentary influence over executive. The Case of Latvia The case of Latvia’ is to ascertain how the influence of the legislator on the executive power has changed since the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia. The parliamentary influence will be ascertained through the committee work, considering the centrality of parliamentary committees. The empirical part of this study is based on three deep interviews with committees’ representatives’ analysis, which proves that the executive is in a dominant position over Saeima.
