The aim of this Bachelor’s Paper is to examine whether there is a connection between student perceived stress and having a pet in their home. There are 70 participants, who are students, mean age 22,6. One group has a pet in their home (n = 32) and the second group does not have a pet in their home (n = 22). The used instruments are The perceived stress scale and The social readjustment rating scale. The results show that the group without a pet has a statistically significantly higher perceived stress level than the group with a pet in their home.
