Pētījumā piedalījās 67 studējoši respondenti vecumā no 20 līdz 35 gadiem, vecuma intervālos: no 20 līdz 25 gadi (N=32), no 25 līdz 30 gadi (N=14), no 30 līdz 35 gadi (N=21).
dc.description.abstract | The aim of the study is to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and the choice of stress management strategies in the sample of working and non-working students. The sample consisted of 67 students aged 20 to 35, ages ranging from 20 to 25 years (N = 32), from 25 to 30 years (N = 14), from 30 to 35 years (N = 21). Gender distribution of respondents: women (N = 54) and men (N = 13). Respondents are working and non-working students who study in bachelor's programme. Two following surveys were used: a survey of stress management strategies and a survey of emotional intelligence. The results showed statistically significant differences between scales – emotion oriented strategies and avoidance strategies, working students show higher scores in the choice of emotion - oriented strategies, while non-working students show higher indicators of avoidance strategies. The results showed that there are positive links between emotional intelligence and problem - oriented strategies. The results of the correlation analysis showed that a statistically significant level of correlation also appears between the perception of the emotions and problem - oriented strategies and the management of their emotions and problem - oriented strategies. Avoidance strategies form a correlation with the use of emotion. There is also a significant positive relationship between scales - the use of emotion and emotion - oriented strategies.
