The Master's thesis "Promotion of Sustainable Consumption in Marketing Communication: Example of Enterprises "H&M", "Lindex", and "Zara"" studies marketing communication of three clothing retail enterprises "H&M", "Lindex", and "Zara" on social networking sites "Facebook" and "Instagram". The aim of the study is to investigate the role and consumers' and experts' estimation of promotion of sustainable consumption in marketing communication of those enterprises. The theoretical framework of the research is based on theories of consumer behaviour and marketing communication. The following research methods are employed: content analysis of the posts published by the enterprises on the social networking sites, questionnaire of consumers in Latvia, and expert interviews. The results of the research showed that only "Lindex" significantly integrates promotion of sustainable consumption in the marketing communication. However, promotion of sustainable consumption communicated by "H&M" has reached the consumers in Latvia more successfully.
