The topic of the bachelor thesis is "Patient safety incident reporting and learning systems from the perspective of intensive care staff". Intensive care unit patients face high risks, unsafe care. The involvement of nursing staff in the patient safety incident reporting and learning system is insufficient. Aim of the bachelor thesis: To clarify the intensive care staff perspective on the patient safety incident reporting and learning system. A qualitative research method was used in the study. The results of the study: From the point of view of critical care staff, the patient safety reporting and learning system is about learning from errors that should be identified and reported, but reporting is hampered by ignorance of the system’s existence, where and how to report, fear of punishment, lack of clarity about which errors and situations to report, lack of confidence that problem-solving and improvement will follow. Keywords: patient safety incident reporting and learning system, intensive care, nursing staff, patient safety event.
