This master’s thesis examines the aspects of copyright problems in the use of text created by artificial intelligence in education. Who owns the texts produced by artificial intelligence, and is their use in an academic environment, presented as one's own work, a violation of copyright or plagiarism? This paper examines several directions created by the introduction of artificial intelligence content in education, taking into account the complicated interaction between copyright law, academic integrity, educational practice and technological achievements. Considering developments in jurisprudence and technology in the EU, this study provides insights into the harmonization and clarification of copyright laws in the digital age for educational institutions, educators and students. Keywords: artificial intelligence, copyright, texts generated by artificial intelligence, EU copyright directive, education
