Empīriskās ticamības funkcijas metodes analīze un tās pielietojumi statistikā

Abstract

Bieži vien praksē sastopamajām datu kopām ir ļoti grūti noteikt sadalījuma likumu un tam var būt visdažādākie iemesli. Viena no iespējām, kā šādos gadījumos novērtēt parametrus, ir lietot neparametriskās metodes un viena no populārākajām šāda veida metodēm ir empīriskās ticamības metode (EL). Šī darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, cik labi EL metode strādā, vai tā spēj konkurēt ar citām metodēm. Simulējot dažādu sadalījumu datus, ar dažādām metodēm tika konstruēti ticamības intervāli vidējai vērtībai un mediānai, kas tika salīdzināti, izmantojot ticamības intervālu pārklājuma precizitāti. Galvenie darbā iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka EL metode strādā labi un ka tā ir nopietns sāncensis parametriskajām metodēm.

Very often in practical data analysis it is very hard to determine the real distribution of data set and there can be many reasons for that. One of the possibilities in such cases is to use nonparametric methods to estimate parameters, one of the most popular is empirical likelihood (EL) method. The main purpose of this work is to investigate, how good EL method is, comparing with other methods. For this purpose, there was simulated data from different distributions and different methods were used to construct confidence intervals for mean and median, these methods were compared using coverage accuracy. The main results are that EL method works very well and that it is a serious competitor to parametric methods.
