Reģionālie klimata modeļi (RCM) ir noderīgs informācijas avots nākotnes klimata pētījumiem. Eiropas reģionam pieejams liels RCM klāsts (ansamblis), kuri piedāvā plašu parametrizācijas un rezultātu kopu. Šī darba mērķis ir noteikt, kuri no šiem modeļiem būtu piemērotākie hidroloģijas pētījumiem Ziemeļeiropas reģionam, analizējot temperatūras/nokrišņu (T/P) korelācijas saistību ar modeļa rezultātu spēju reprezentēt reģionālos hidroloģiskos procesus. Lai sasniegtu darba mērķi, tiek veikta RCM laika rindu (modeļu rezultātu) analīze un noteikta ikmēneša T/P korelācija. Lai RCM statistiski sakristu ar mūsdienu klimatu, katram RCM modelim laika rindas tiek statistiski modificētas. Darba ietvaros ir veikti hidroloģiskie aprēķini izvēlētajā apgabalā izmantojot novērojumus, nemodificētās un modificētās RCM laika rindas. Regional climate models (RCM) are a useful source of data for climate change studies. There are various RCMs varying in skill for the European region, which envelopes a large variety of parameterisations and results. The aim of this study is to assess which of the models would be more suitable for hydrology calculations in northern Europe analysing temperature/precipitation (T/P) correlation and the models skill to represent the hydrological processes in the region. To reach these goals, analysis of the RCM time-series where made and bias-correction implemented, so that the data from RCMs would statistically correspond with the present climate observations. T/P correlations were calculated for all the RCMs. Hydrological calculations made for the selected area of study using observations, modified and unmodified RCM time-series.
