| dc.description.abstract | Diplomdarbā tiek apskatīti otrās kārtas racionāli diferenču vienādojumi, to analīzes pamatjēdzieni un metodes. Šāda tipa vienādojumus pielietoto matemātiskajos modeļos dažādās bioloģiskās sistēmās un citās nozarēs, piemēram, populācijas dinamikas pētīšanai bioloģijā. Dziļāk tiek pētīts Lyness diferenču vienādojums, šī vienādojuma atrisinājuma līdzsvara punkts un periodiskums. Kā arī tiek formulētas vairākas ar šo vienādojumu saisītas problēmas, no kurām problēma par periodiskumu tiek apskatīta sīkāk.

| dc.description.abstract | In the diploma paper the rational second order difference equations, the basic concepts and methods of analysis are discussed. Equations of such kind are used in mathematical models of various biological systems and other applications, for example, in biology for the research of population dynamics. Lyness difference equation is deeper investigated. The equilibrium point and periodicity of solution are investigated as well. Several open problems related to this equation are formulated, and the problem about periodicity is studied in more detail.
