Zinātnisko datu glabātuve

Abstract

Maģistra darbā “Zinātnisko datu glabātuve” ir aprakstīta Latvijā līdz šim nebijuša IT projekta ieviešanas gaita, apskatot tā tehnoloģisko pusi. Projekta mērķis ir nodrošināt zinātniekus ar datu un skaitļošanas resursiem, ko izmantot savu pētījumu veikšanā. Darbā aprakstīta datu glabātuves infrastruktūra, sākot no fiziskā līmeņa līdz pat programmatūrai, apskatītas izmantotās tehnoloģijas. Autors darbā pievēršas datu glabāšanas līmeņa izpētei un analīzei. Apskatīti datu glabāšanas varianti un tos ietekmējošie faktori. Izstrādāta datu glabātuves arhitektūra un ieviestas tās pamatkomponentes. Noslēgumā autors iepazīstina ar iegūtajiem rezultātiem un izvēlēto risinājumu, aprakstot turpmāk veicamos darbus projekta tālākajā ieviešanā.

Master's thesis "Scientific Data Storage" describes the technical implementation of novel IT project in Latvia. The goal of the project is to provide data and computation resources for scientists. Thesis describes data storage infrastructure from physical level up to software examining technologies which are used. Author turns to research and analyze the data storage level of this infrastructure. Work describes possibilities how to implement it and what one has to take into account. The architecture of data storage is developed and main parts are implemented. In the end of the work author sums up results and chosen solution, describing the future of the project.
