During this work a system was developed for measurements of emission spectra of high frequency electrodeless discharge lamps (HFEDL) at different Cold Spot temperatures. Special module for temperature regulation, capable to cover a range from -15°C to +135°C, was developed utilizing Peltier elements. Spectra were registered using PC-connected Avantes spectrometer.
Spectra were obtained for 5 samples of HFEDL, filled with a mixture of Hg and inert gas, at different temperatures within the range allowed by the system. Specific attention was paid to spectral region around 185 nm. It was observed, that emission intensity increases with the increase of temperature. Lamps with smaller filling pressure exibit faster growth of intensity. The speed of intensity change is dependent on the kind of inert gas – change is faster for lighter gas.
