Abstract

Kvalifikācijas darba „VPN – darbs ārpus biroja” mērķis ir izprast VPN uzbūvi un darbību Windows Server 2003 serverī, kā arī VPN servera izveidošanu un attālināti pieslēgties VPN serverim. Galvenais uzdevums ir iegūt pietiekošas zināšanas VPN servera un VPN tuneļa izveidošanā. Darbā tiek parādīts VPN servera izveidošana, izmantojot Windows Server 2003, datu drošība VPN tunelī mūsdienu tehnoloģiski attīstītajā pasaulē. Darbā attēlots cik samērā viegli ir izveidot VPN serveri un pēc tam attālināti pieslēgties viņam, izmantojot internetu. Darba izstrādes laikā ir iegūtas pietiekoši lielas zināšanas, lai varētu brīvi uzstādīt VPN serveri uz Windows Server 2003. Rezultātā gūti secinājumi par Windows Server 2003 iespējām, veidojot VPN serveri. Gūtas zināšanas par protokoliem un sertifikātiem, kurus izmanto lai izveidotu VPN tuneli, kā arī to, ka VPN spēj uzlabot uzņēmuma darbību.

The objective of this qualification paper “VPN – work outside office” is to understand the structure and function of VPN on Windows Server 2003 as well as construction of VPN server and remote connection to VPN server. The main goal is to acquire enough knowledge of VPN server and construction of VPN tunnel. The research follows step-by - step construction of VPN server using Windows Server 2003 and shows data security in VPN tunnel in the environment of technologically developed world today. The research shows how easy it is to set up a VPN server and to connect to it from a distance afterwards, using Internet. During the research, enough knowledge was acquired to fluently establish the VPN server on Windows server 2003. Conclusions of Windows Server 2003 opportunities in setting up a VPN server were gathered as a result. Knowledge of protocols and certificates used to model a VPN server were acquired as well as the conclusion that VPN can improve the functions of the company.
