Oracle Enterprise Linux pielietojums DWH aplikācijās

Abstract

Darbā ir apskatīta un izvērtēta ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX pielietojamība datu noliktavās. Līdzšinējās LINUX versijas bija relatīvi nestabilas un nedrošas, tāpēc maz lietotas kopā ar ORACLE datubāzēm. Lai LINUX lietojumu popularizētu ORACLE izstrādājis LINUX versiju ar saviem labojumiem. Lai pārbaudītu izlaboto LINUX versiju, tika testēti reālas datu noliktavas ielādes procesi uz šīs operētājsitēmas. Pirmajā nodaļā apskatīta ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX instalācija un aplūkoti ORACLE datubāzes galvenie konfigurācijas parametri. Pārbaudot oficiālos aprakstus tika secināts, ka tie nav pilnīgi. Lai sekmīgi un reālā laikā notiktu datu ielāde, ļoti liela nozīme ir arī tehnoloģijām kādas izmanto, tāpēc otrajā nodaļā tika apskatītas tās, kuras tika izmantotas ielādes procesā. Pēdējā nodaļā ir aprakstīta ielādes procesa vides uzstādīšana un rezultāti, kādi iegūti testēšanas procesā.

In this paper we are exploring ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX applicability in data warehouses. Current LINUX versions have been relatively unstable and unreliable therefore they were rarely used along with ORACLE databases. To popularize LINUX, ORACLE has developed an upgraded LINUX version. To asses the debugged LINUX version, it was tested by loading real data warehouse processes on this operating system. In the first section the ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX installation and the main configuration parameters of the ORACLE database are being explored. By following the official documentation it was found that this documentation is incomplete. Technologies being used are of great importance in a successful and real-time data loading. Therefore these technologies are being explained in the second section. In the last section we describe the process loading environment setup and the results, which were obtained in the process of testing.
