Master’s thesis is written in Latvian on 39 pages. It contains 13 figures, 8 tables and 28 references to literature. Aim was to evaluate the effect of general anesthesia on the accommodation of the eye with quantitative assessment methods. Perioperative assessment of accommodation of the eye was done in patients that received general or spinal anesthesia. There is no statistically significant difference between perioperative changes of accommodation of the eye in patients that received general or spinal anesthesia, although there is statistically significant difference in perioperative relative changes in the amplitude of accommodation of the eye in patients that received general anesthesia. There is statistically significant correlation between perioperative relative changes in the amplitude of accommodation of the eye and age.
