Master’s work is written in Latvian. It consists of 60 p. It contains 36 fig., 1 table, 4 appendice. 57 literature sources are used in master’s work. Purpose:To assess and to compare clinical outcomes between VisuMax femtosecond laser(FemtoLASIK method) and the mechanical microkeratome(LASIK method) for creating corneal flaps during LASIK. Methods: The study involved a total of 154 eyes of 84 myopic patients, with 59 patients comprising the LASIK and 25 patients comprising the FemtoLASIK. Average age 29±8 years. Preoperative subjective refractions MSE before the LASIK was -4,81±2,44D,the FemtoLASIK: -5,32±2,38D. Subjective average BCVA before the LASIK was 1,1±0,2,the FemtoLASIK:1,1±0,1. Measured mean IOP before the LASIK was 16,2±2,8mmHg, FemtoLASIK:16,7±3,0mmHg. Results:At 3 months after the LASIK, subjective refractions the MSE was -0,18±0,44D, after the FemtoLASIK: -0,21±0,51D; the predictability of refraction within ±0,50D interval after the LASIK was 85%, the FemtoLASIK – 90%; UCVA 1,0 or better after the LASIK was 81%, the FemtoLASIK – 82%. Measured mean IOP at 3 months after the LASIK was 11,1±2,2mmHg, the FemtoLASIK – 10,5±2,2mmHg. Conclusions:3 months after laser surgery clinical outcomes(stability and predictability of refraction, efficacy and safety of visual acuity, IOP measurement changes) in the LASIK and FemtoLASIK method were similar.
